Raghunath Jhalani was known to make suspenseful thrillers (Anamika was by him?). Jal Mahal was inspired totally by Vertigo, and it was a good effort. The suspense is good, and the ending is truly a surprise. Of the actors, I thought Rekha and Deven Varma were very good. Pran and Jeetu do their parts as they always did...but the director should be given credit for making a tight little thriller. Sadly, the film didn't do well at the box office. R.D. Burman's music was, as always, good. |
