Ghungroo is an epic of melodious tunes and gorgeous dances. It has a tickling tale of ghosts and goondas to regale all those who seek entertainment in filmcraft. Although the story whirls around a ficititious plot, the soul of the theme is derived from the daily life of the common man. . Vinod was a nervous man who in love with Hema but dared not disclose this to her. When he came to know that Hema loved him too, he thought he was the happiest man in Poona. He was also informed by one of his relatives that he has a twin brother Ballam. . Ballam was a Hero of a theatre in Bombay. The pair of Ballam and kamini, the Herone, was very popu;ar and people used to visit the theatre from far and beyond. Kamini had attaravted Ballam by her false love and was exploitng him to keep up her popularity at the box-office and grab fortunes from rich Rajahs and Maharajahs. It was not long when her dirty game was exposed to Ballam and in a quarrel she murdered Ballam with the help of her accomplice Hiralal. The ghost of Ballam came out of his body and started ginding ways and means to take revenge from his enemies. . Ballams ghost appeared in Vinodd house and went in Vinods body and suddenly Vinod became Ballam. Then Ballam took him to Bombay and separated him from his beloved Hema. She followed him to Bombay. Then they all ran into a vicious circle of wild goose chase. Heart broken Hema ran after Vinod, Vinod ran for his life from Ballam. Ballam ran after Kanini for his revenge and he in turn was dragged by Hiralal and his hirelings. Thus they found themselves inyolved in such a chain of `comedy of errors which cannot possibly be described in words.
