The story setting is made in around 1600-1700, during the Vijayanagara empire. Kasinatha Sastri (ANR) belongs to a high caste Brahmin family. He lives with his brother and sister-in-law, who is also his closest friend. He treats her like a mother. Manjulavani (Anjali Devi) is part of a troupe that take part in drama for their earning. Their "lower caste" is a big hurdle for their love. Rest of the story is how ANR marries Anjali, going against the norms and makes people realize that all humans are the same. |
