Sometimes you know the fate of the film by its title. That is exactly how you feel when you watch Okkadine and walk out of the theatre. Some hint that it would be better to see a film with a bigger group for company and some actually suggest that the film needs only one man in the projector room as the viewer. You wish to go solo sometimes when there is a hike in ticket rates but you end up feeling lot more better if there are few more to share the experience. If you need to know why we said this, then see Okkadine.Shailaja (Nitya Menen) is a daughter of an aspiring chief minister Sivaji Rao (Sai Kumar), she lands at the airport and is escorted home to a busy father who has no time for her. Sivaji Rao’s charitable and good nature impresses his daughter and she too believes that good people like him should get into politics. While Sivaji Rao leaves for USA. his daughter along with her friend Sujatha (Snigdha) goes to Ramapuram, a little distant from Vishakapatanam and stays at Seenu Mama’s (Naga Babu) place . While on a stroll in the forest she is bruised and Surya (Nara Rohit) takes her home where his father who is an expert in Ayurveda treats her.

Shaila begins to love Surya’s affectionate and large family something that she has missed all her life and when Surya proposes to her she is more than happy. She immediately calls her father over the phone and informs him and he has no qualms. Saijaja informs the same to Seenu Mama and he is surprised because Surya and his family died a couple of years back and he has been a witness to it. Also he cremated them personally. Now this is a real twist in the story..or did Sailaja live with ghosts? Or is it her imagination? Or is it for real .Whenever there is something unfair happening, the hero descends on the scene and it happens in Telugu cinema too. When the heroine spots a baddie doing something unthinkable and she curses him, he goes up in flames. She thinks an accident might happen to a speeding vehicle and it actually hits a wall and tumbles. You might think that this is really interesting and wake up from your slumber, you are engulfed by a series of episodes. One looks like an action episode, another a family drama and the next is a revenge scene. By the time you reach the interval you want to make sure it is not a ghost movie.

After the break, the episodes in Surya’s house appear very dramatic, the director though generates interest before the break, he doesn’t use it to his advantage. It is actually a hero who takes revenge on someone who wipes out his family. Rohit struggled in selecting the right story, he failed in giving out the right expressions. Underplaying emotions is not an easy job, it comes with experience and he has a long way to go. Nitya Menen did a good job but in the second half turned into a dummy character. Sai Kumar hasn’t been given a scope but Naga Babu took a knife and went berserk in the second part. All the comedians MS Nararayana, Brahmanandam and Ali hardly evoked any laughter. The director took extra interest to prove that Snigdha is a female.

The technical department was at an all time low. The dialogues, music never worked and songs came up in the wrong places. The film should have ended a lot earlier but the director dragged it unnecessarily. In the beginning of the film we spoke about needing atleast four people for company while watching this film. Guess why? If you faint while or after watching this film, there would have been a definite urgency for those four to carry you home.
