Gopi(Mithun Chakraborty) is an artist and survives with his sister and grandmother(Lalita Pawar), by working in dramas. Naina(Bhanu Priya), a resident of Shantipur and daughter of masterji(Satyen Kappu) writes a letter to the ministry, complaning about the atrocities done in village by zamindar Thaku Chattan Singh(Kader Khan) and Sarpanch, Samjhavan lal(Prem Chopra). The ministry sends an officer to the village, but Gopi is mistaken to be the minister. Chattan Singh and Samjhavanlal try to bribe him, but Gopi makes them do things for the betterment of the villagers. Alongside is Tulsi(Divya Rana), daughter of Chattan Singh who is married in her childhood and is a widow. She loves Ramu(Sumit Saigal) and Thakur objects to this. They ultimately get married through Gopi's help. There is also a madman(Shakti Kapoor) who keeps coming into picture, whenver Gopi is in danger of being caught. In the end, it is revealed that he is Vijay Kumar, the secret Government officer. |
