Ravidas (Sunny Deol) is the son of Barber Chhechram (Dr. Shreeram Lagoo). He likes writing poems but his father wants him to work as a barber. Ravidas is not able to concentrate on any other job as his only happiness lies in lyrics, songs etc. Once a beautiful girl Jyoti (Poonam Dhillon) arrives in his village in the morning train (Savere vali gaadi) and stays with her sister Sukhdayeeer (Bindu) and her brother-in-law Kishenlal (Prem Chopra). Her brother in law lusts after her and keeps taking chances with her. Ravi and Jyoti fall in love with each other. The whole village goes against their love. The only support comes, from a fauji (army man Dharmendra). The panchayat headed by Thakur (Om Shiv Puri), Panditji (C.S. Dubey) and Guptaji (Satyendra Kapoo) punish Ravi by making him bald and parading him on a donkey. Chhediram commits suicide out of shame and Ravi too leaves the village. Now what will happen to Jyoti? Can Kishenlal molest her easily? Will the blind villagers ever understand the value of true love? where will Ravi end up in his journey? |
