In the town of Relangi, there lived a kind hearted gentleman who is referred to as Relangi uncle by his relatives. He is the head of a middle-class family consisting of his wife, mother, niece Seetha and three children — two sons Peddodu (the elder one), Chinnodu (the younger one) and a daughter Chinni. Peddodu is an introvert who lives his life on his own terms and hates socialising with others. Seetha wants to marry him and the latter never reciprocates her feelings. Chinnodu, on the other hand, is an unemployed person who behaves in a way opposite to that of Peddodu. He falls in love with Geetha, the daughter of Seetha's paternal uncle who is jealous of Relangi uncle and always ridicules their family for their economic status. Despite sharing a strong bonding, the brothers always have sparse conversations.

Geetha's sister recommends a marriage proposal to Chinni where the bridegroom is related to her in-laws. During the marriage, Peddodu and Geetha's father indulge in a heated argument in the backyard due to the latter's sarcastic remarks and this increases tensions further. Few days later, the brothers leave to Hyderabad for employment. Geetha invites the former to a lunch without revealing that her entire family is attending it. Here, Chinnodu and Geetha's father have an argument, again because of the latter's sarcastic remarks. When Geetha tries to pacify him, Peddodu spots the duo and is upset as he hates Geetha's father for his hypocrisy. He abruptly leaves for Relangi and Chinnodu stay back dejected. This affects his relationship with Geetha whose father zeroes in on a bridegroom he found apt for her.

Seetha is also forced to marry a bridegroom suggested by Geetha's father. However, Peddodu and a distant relative Kondala Rao manage to make the bridegroom reject the proposal. Relangi uncle later is injured in an accident in an attempt to save a young man. His condition stabilises and the young man turns out to be the son of Peddodu's former employer's brother. Peddodu's former employer apologises for his misbehaviour in the past and offers Peddodu a job again. However, the gap between the brothers increases when Peddodu asks Chinnodu to suggest an alternative. Seetha observes this and tells the same to Relangi uncle.

The duo plans to visit Bhadrachalam Temple where the annual kalyanam event of Rama and Sita is being conducted. Relangi uncle and his family visit the event and meet Geetha's family there. The chief guest, an M. L. A., had a good impression on Relangi uncle in the past and offers him to be a part of the procession. When Geetha's father is surprised by this, havoc wreaks due to a short circuit. With the help of police and other volunteers, the brothers manage to save all. In the process, they forgo their differences between themselves and also save Geetha's family. The brothers are praised by their father for their brave act who then preaches them the importance of family, emotions and particularly the effect of friendly approach towards one and all. This brings a change in the attitudes of the brothers and Geetha's father who was listening to the conversation secretly.

Seetha turns joyous seeing the brothers united again and this time, Peddodu indirectly reciprocates her feelings by calling her "Seetha" for the first time instead of the regular phrases used like Hey! and Oy!. Their marriage is conducted and the marriage of Chinnodu and Geetha is planned shortly after Geetha's father patches up with Relangi uncle's family. The brothers gift a set of golden bangles each to their grandmother indicating that they are now employed.
