This is the story of India under the British rule, the swadeshi movement, activities of Nehru and Gandhi's followers. Ram, son of a police officer, was inspired by Nehru and wanted to dedicate himself to the country. Ram's father was sad to see his son become a swadeshi. Shila and Vinod were Ram's childhood friends. Vinod became a police officer. Shila loved and respected Ram. But to release her brother from the jail, she was compelled to marry Vinod. Shila became depressed and sick. Ram in the meanwhile got caught by the police and was hanged. Shila placed her garland over Ram's dead body and she also died. Ram became a shaheed and got the respect of the Indian people. |
