Rahul (Tusshar Kapoor) is a happy-go-lucky boy and a total flirt. He has grown up seeing fights between his NRI parents (Rajesh Khanna and Smita Jaykar), and has become very cynical towards relationships and marriage in general. On the other side, Esha (Esha Deol) is a tomboyish Punjabi girl brought up with all the usual traditional Indian values. Esha goes to New Zealand for her graduation where she meets Rahul. Intially, Esha is put off by Rahul's over-confident nature. But Rahul indirectly helps Esha to get admission in that college where she studied. This way, they come close and eventually fall in love. Both Rahul and Esha have qualms about accepting their relationship and love each other openly. After their graduation, Esha goes back to India. Soon, Rahul too comes down to India. Surprisingly, their parents don't have any objections with their marriage. However, its Rahul who refuses to marry Esha. Although he admits he loves to her, he refuses to marry her because he believes love fades away after marriage, which he had seen in his own home. Esha feels betrayed, and decides to marry his uncle's son Amit (Dileep Thadeshwar) instead after trying a lot to convince Rahul. Even Rahul remains stubborn on his beliefs. But will Rahul change his mind? Or will he stick to his ideas and beliefs?
