Ramavatar is a barber by profession while his wife Sushma is educated. Ramavatar becomes an M. L. A. & Thakur Dig Vijay Singh who was a minister becomes the CM. After some days Ramavatar gets irritated with this game of politics. So with the help of wife Sushma he tells the M. L. A. to make him the CM. Then the M. L. A. buys party members with lakhs to make Ramavatar the CM. At last Ramavatar becomes the CM & the first thing he does is he calls the IG of police & tells him to give all the information of the ministers & M. L. A.s. Ramavatar tells his PA to make all the files of the ministers. Days pass, months pass & Ramavatar becomes busy in his work. Then he starts using short cuts, starts taking bribes from rich people & puts money in his CM's Private Relief Fund. He starts playing politics. Seeing his transformed ways Sushma gets depressed. She tries to explain matters to him but when she sees that he is adamant, she leaves his house with her daughter & goes to Kamalpur where her husband had worked as a barber. Ramavatar's daughter starts getting unwell and he suddenly receives a phone call saying that she is no more. He goes to see her but Sushma closes the door on his face. The next day Kranti Kumar comes to Sushma & requests her to accept her husband. Sushma tells him that her values and the good of the nation come before her love for her husband. Ramavatar then realises that it is impossible for an illiterate person like him to sit on the CM's chair. So he opts to resign and spends the rest of his life in the village of Kamalpur with his family.
